Real Chile Pepper Wreaths
The traditional New Mexico symbol of Christmas
A colorful Southwestern alternative to holly wreaths!
New Mexicans have hung roja chile pimiento ristras
(Spanish for "red chili pepper strings") for centuries. As you drive around our
state, you see ristras hanging practically everywhere...they're one of the
most common symbols of the "Land of Enchantment." At Christmastime, many New
Mexico families hang a chile wreath on their front doors or mantles instead of a
traditional holly wreath.
We offer two types of wreaths: regular or decorated
with heads of garlic, seed pods, dried flowers and wide raffia ribbon.
Our wreaths are designed to be hung indoors or out, and have been treated by the farmer by spraying red-tinted lacquer on the chiles. They are not edible, but they will maintain their shape and color considerably longer than fresh chiles...up to 5 years outdoors in dry climates, 2 years in humid climates.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed...see our
Return Policy page for details.
