The people have spoken, or in this case, tasted and voted for their favorite New Mexico salsa. “This was the New Mexico Department of Agriculture's 16th annual Battle of the Salsas contest at the New Mexico State Fair; and once again we had a great turn out,” said David Lucero, NMDA Marketing and Development division director.
More than 300 people stopped by the Agriculture Building Courtyard on September 17, 2011, and voted for their favorite recipe. “This year the fairgoers had to choose from 31 different commercially produced New Mexico salsas; and in the end a new winner was crowned,” added Lucero.
