In the shadows of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Santa Fe, NM, sits a century-old adobe ranch house where artisans handcraft art knives of rare beauty. Each of these collectible knives represents a unique example of the cutler’s art: the quintessential marriage of fine steels with gemstones and intricate wood marquetry.
We feature the following fine lockblade knives from these master craftsmen:
- Native American Collection: Italian marquetry, a wood inlay process dating back to the fifteenth century Renaissance, is combined with turquoise, silver, and marble to produce Native American-style designs which truly reflect the American Southwest. Native American craftsman Stan Lance has been perfecting exotic hardwood marquetry for over 20 years.
- Vein Turquoise Collection: Vein turquoise is formed by deposits in open cracks and voids which are caused by small faults or other movement of the rock, creating unique patterns and textures. Available in 3" Lockblade Knife or the smaller Scissor Knife.
