Wonderstone is a volcanic rock composed mainly of volcanic glass particles which have been welded or stuck together by heat and compacted by the weight of overlying material. Circulating ground water and iron oxides produced the colorful banding in the rock.
Wonderstone gives these coasters their capacity to absorb liquid, dissipate it and allow it to quickly evaporate, making these coasters as functional as they are beautiful. Each cork-backed coaster is ample enough to absorb the condensation from the sweatiest bottle or glass. And the colorfast printing process assures that the designs never smudge or fade.
